Plant Tour - MEMS Gyro / IMU @Hachinohe 2nd Plant

Next, we will show you the production line of MEMS Gyro and MEMS IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit).
The gyro business is one of our core businesses that we have been involved in since our foundation. Gyros are based on a variety of principles and methods, and this facility manufactures products based on vibrating MEMS gyro technology, which is indispensable not only for measuring the movement, attitude, and orientation of various moving objects, but also for position measurement in automated driving Gyro-sensor unit.

Column: Tips for Visitors

Walk like a Penguin

In winter, the temperature often drops below freezing and the road surfaces are icy. When there is snow on the ground or the roads are icy, it is recommended to take small strides, keep the center of gravity in front of you, and walk like a penguin with the soles of your feet touching the road surface as much as possible. It is not preferable to wear leather shoes or pumps in the weather like that…

Travel with Cash

Local trains are convenient when traveling within Aomori Prefecture.
However, your credit cards cannot be used for payment! We would like to advise you to prepare some cash before getting on a train.

Seasonal Temperatures & Clothes

The Hachinohe area is located in the northern part of Japan, where cool temperatures prevail throughout the year. Compared to Tokyo, the average monthly temperature is about 5°C to 7°C lower, with spring coming late and fall coming early. Therefore, thick innerwear and thick jackets or coats are necessary even in early spring (around April). The cold, moist easterly winds called "Yamase" blow from June to August, and the temperature can be quite cool. Please check the weather and temperature before visiting Hachinohe.

The best time to see the cherry blossoms in this area is usually from mid-April to early May, about a month after the cherry blossoms bloom in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Aomori is also home to some of Japan's most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, so if you have missed the cherry blossoms or would like to enjoy some of the best cherry blossoms in Japan, why don't you come and see them in Hachinohe?
